Nudge · last updated 22 September 2026
The short version: Nudge collects nothing about you. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party services. Everything you write, send and plan is stored in your own iCloud account, where only you and the person you paired with can read it.
When you pair with someone, Nudge creates a private shared space in your iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. The content of that space — your notes, moods, photos, plans, grocery list, birthdays and anniversary — is stored there and synced to the other person's device. A copy is kept on each device so the app and the widget work without a connection.
This data is held under your own Apple Account. I have no access to it, no ability to read it, and no copy of it on any server of mine.
If you attach a photo, Nudge asks for permission to read the one you choose from your photo library. The photo is resized, stored in your iCloud space, and shown to the person you paired with. Nudge does not read the rest of your library and does not upload anything you have not chosen.
If you allow notifications, Nudge sends them when your partner sends you something, and before plans, birthdays and your anniversary. These are delivered by Apple's Push Notification service. Reminders for your own plans and dates are scheduled on your device.
Only you and the one person you paired with. Apple operates the iCloud storage and sync; their handling of that data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Deleting the app removes the local copy from that device. To remove the shared space itself, delete Nudge's data in Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. Since I hold no copy, there is nothing for me to delete on your behalf.
Nudge is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date.
